All modern smartphones and tablets are equipped with Bluetooth. For this reason, many products equipped with Bluetooth can be operated easily and flexibly using mobile devices. There is no need for an Internet connection, an intermediate station, WLAN routers, or additional cabling.
With mesh technology, Bluetooth devices can be connected to each other, forming a Bluetooth mesh network where the information is passed from node to node until it reaches its destination. The control range can be flexibly extended by adding more network devices. Several networks of devices can be created and individually protected by a password.
There is a wide range of possible applications for Bluetooth mesh-capable devices. Networking enables, among other things, large-area device networks, collection of sensor data, monitoring of functions and operating states, control and regulation as part of automation, and much more.
Bluetooth-Mesh integration by MESHLE
MESHLE’s experienced hardware and software engineers support you in integrating Bluetooth Mesh technology into your existing electronic products as well as in new developments. The goal is not only to provide Bluetooth mesh compatibility but also to ensure maximum usability of your product for your customers.
The integration of Bluetooth Mesh into the hardware is achieved by the adaptation of a Bluetooth module on the circuit board of an existing or newly developed product.
For a flexible and uncomplicated integration, MESHLE uses Bluetooth modules based on the nRF solution from a market leader in wireless solutions Nordic Semiconductor. The modules are pre-certified and are ideally suited for a fast and cost-efficient market launch.
MESHLE offers a full-stack solution on the firm- and software level starting from embedded hardware integration, control app up to cloud-based progressive web applications with an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
MESHLE firmware offers different profiles depending on the final product. According to the device type (e.g. switchable, dimmable, closable, triggerable), one or more of the profiles can be applied to a product. The selected (firmware) profiles are then pre-installed on the Bluetooth module and provided as a component for product manufacture. All profiles are mutually compatible and can coexist in the same network.
MESHLE Gateway — Beyond the Bluetooth mesh network
MESHLE Gateway enables the connection to the MESHLE Cloud and thus offers an extension to the pure Bluetooth Mesh control, which enables a central management system with remote access and monitoring.
MESHLE Gateway Plus additionally enables the innovative MESHLE Guest Control based on a dynamic QR code. Different users can then control or configure devices with their own smartphones within seconds without having to install an app. By scanning a QR code, the user is immediately directed to a Progressive Web App (PWA) in the web browser, from where access to the control can be granted for a limited period of time.
MESHLE — The Company
MESHLE GmbH was founded in Düsseldorf, Germany in 2015 with the aim of providing technology in the area of smart control that is easy to operate and integrate for both private users and companies.
MESHLE was among the first companies that specifically worked with Bluetooth Mesh and developed its own Bluetooth Mesh networking technology, which it successfully integrated into its own products and the products of other manufacturers.
MESHLE is a combination of “MESH” — a special type of network where each device is connected to one or more other devices and “LE” — an abbreviation for Low Energy, as a reference to the applied Bluetooth Low Energy technology. All MESHLE capable products work with Bluetooth Mesh and are compatible among each other.
